OUR FIRST BAMBOO JUNGLE VILLA
The soon to be completed 'Jungle Villa' has a comfortable interior space of just over 100m2 and a further 140m2 of exterior space comprising of multi-level decks, hanging balconies and a stunning plunge pool with adjoining sun deck, offering sunset views over the lush jungle canopy. Our Jungle Villa retreat is constructed largely of bamboo, teak and other local woods with a unique combination of traditional 'palapa style' tiki roof inspired by the native Bribri tribe of Talamanca and a minimalistic and somewhat contemporary open plan interior space. It's unique location, sitting dramatically on the edge of the rain forest overlooking the rich jungle canopy, offers guests spectacular panoramic valley & ocean sunset views. It's attractive design has a real emphasis on outdoor living with a unique 'eco-luxury' style, while each of the two double en-suite bedrooms offer guests the comfort of air-conditioning & Coco-Mat 'sleep on nature' beds that, in harmony with a customized 'pillow menu', provide our guests with the perfect nights rest. Our spacious bathroom areas are finished in a beautifully rustic, locally sourced natural stone finish, each with walk in rain shower, an organic experience in itself, as they hang dramatically over the jungle canopy itself. The overall organic and rustic charm of the villa has been conceptualizes to push 'design boundaries' in terms of what is conventionally known as interior and exterior spaces. Our philosophies of 'Eco-Luxury' or 'Eco-Chic' form the backbone of our PuraVidaEcolodge Jungle Villa concept, with final touches such as the super efficient sycamore fans, a highly advanced and ultra efficient domotic LED lighting system as well as solar energy throughout the project. With the final touches being implemented right now, our first Jungle Villa 'nest' will be available to let as the perfect holiday getaway or retreat from June 2012. With space to sleep up to six guests comfortably it's the perfect destination for small families, honeymooners, adventure junkies or anyone looking for a dose of 'Pura Vida' and a truly unique experience.

CONCEPT , DESIGN AND FACILITIES
All living spaces at PuraVidaEcolodge aim to blend in with the lush natural surroundings and a large emphasis has been placed on a selection of sustainable materials. Design combinations include thatched 'tiki-style palapa’ roofs utilizing local woods such as oven-roasted ornamental bamboo, teak and guadua. These rugged woods combine perfectly with the ‘classic stucco’ espresso cream walls, bear rock-wall finishes and stylish polished concrete floors. The Jungle Villa's stylish design features include two-tier open living spaces, atriums & vertical gardens. Rain pools, water canals, water-mirrors and of course our idylic plunge pool will help produce a tranquil and natural environment absolutely essential to the concept and success of the retreat. PuraVidaEcolodge first Jungle Villa has its own parking facilities and its access is just a 10-minute scenic drive on a well-maintained road leading up from the recently completed Costa Nera Highway, where some of Costa Rica’s most spectacular beaches lie - Playa Tortuga being our favourite.
With the close proximity to the Pacific Coast, Costa Rica's world famous National Parks, a selection of cloud forests and stunning active volcanoes, PuraVidaEcolodge appeals to the higher end of the market; everyone from nature enthusiasts to sport fishers, scuba divers, golfers and surfers to newlyweds looking for the perfect honeymoon destination. It also offers the perfect timeshare option for the 'city dweller' or anyone who wants to get 'back to nature', relax and enjoy the 'Pura Vida' lifestyle within the comfortable settings of an luxurious Jungle Villa. By having the Costa Rican family living on site, we offer a high-end concierge service to our guests, anything from airport transfers to home cooked meals with the fresh catch of the day; long leisurely boat trips out to the islands to early morning National Park tours with countless wildlife opportunites. Essentially, you the guests can decide exactly how much privacy and independence you want and with the option a 4by4 included in the vacation rental there really will be no limits as to what you can do and where you can go!
OUR INTENTIONS AT PURA VIDA ECOLODGE
Our intention (and indeed our obligation) at PuraVidaEcolodge is to 'eliminate negative environmental impact completely through skillful and sensitive design'. It is a philosophy that can be applied in the fields of architecture, interior design & landscape architecture as well as the day to day running of the accommodation (and concierge) service. Sustainable design is mostly a general reaction to the global environmental crises (the rapid growth of economic activity and human population, the depletion of natural resources, the damage to ecosystems and to the loss of biodiversity).
In architecture, sustainable design is not the attachment or supplement of architectural design, but an integrated design process. This requires close co-operation of the design team, the architects, the engineers and the client at all project stages, from the site selection, scheme formation, material selection and procurement and project implementation. The design of PuraVidaEcolodge has many important elements:
Ecological building design - Bioclimatic and solar passive houses - Alternative building materials such as Bamboo - Energy saving and production - The implementation of Solar panels & heat collectors - Rainwater catchment and storage - Graywater treatment - Natural air conditioning - Composting toilets
